@Mikie to me the biggest hazard on that road is dampness/wet patches.....it's so shady that some spots stay perpetually wet and are tricky to see.

Are you referring to the Seven passes section? If so, I totally agree, I am very cautious along that section and avoid it like the plague after rains

You have just educated me of another cool route that I didnt know existed, why is that route closed to bikes?
And where is it?

It runs through nature conservation area. You can do it by 4x4 but you have to be two vehicles or more at a time no less.
Runs east all along the Swartberg mountains to Meiringspoort. I was told it will never open for bikes. I walked the route during Vasbyt in the army.

Sounds to be either seriously technical OR SANPARKS is just pre empting and avoiding hooligans on Dirt bikes from using the route due to the damage they do I will check Google Maps.

One hill is named Heart Breakers Hill. Both strips of the road is cemented.
