I think replaced is the order of the day :-[ :-[ :-[

At least that known problem will be sorted then.

I still have to figure a way out to keep the tail light affixed to the Dakar. Shitty design, I would say.

Can't remember. Was your bash plate on for the ride? Would have needed one during the rest of the trip. As what happened with the shock, lot's of possible places to bottom out, scrape bash plate on rocks.

O, and again i am crying like a whoes  :'( I can just imagine that trip with my close buds all on this one. That little Zamalek is still Zamalek! And I am glad to see that the cold one tradition is still going strong. Thank you for posting those trips. Just seeing your faces makes my day. And you all look the same ugly  ;). Nothing change ne?

Love u all! :'(

What a lekker trip - aaarrrghhh - your timing SUCKS !!!

I really feel cheated - was on your heels up to Thabazimbi. Just a pity it was to fix a roof and in a cage  >:D

Those are fantastic roads and obviously a most enjoyable ride

Well done RDR on your new scoot - good to see you in the dirt again

WHOW! What a nice ride.  Thanks Welsh for planning and putting the ride together.  It was good to ride with the "ou manne" again.

I hardly put it together, I learnt a lesson, planning for a solo ride is zero stress no issues, when you have people on your tail it is different, all hail to ride leaders!!!!!!

Welshie, it looks like your bike is about to self-destruct!  ;D

bash plate - gone
end-can - gone
shock bolt - gone
rear seat - gone
windscreen - gone

Hey GrootSwartVark, pull yourself together man! ;D

Anyway, it is nice to see the field repairs and get ideas that might be put to use in future. Sorry that it cut your day short though.

And a new silencer!  ;D

Is it very loud like that? More than say a big KTM with the muffler inserts removed? Or is more of a mellow bark, but not too load?

Actually it is surprisingly quiet, we were commenting on the ride how loud you think it would be but isn't....

The GSV needs exhausts to make it louder... ;D ;D

The CAT is still inplace so still Quiet...

That was really interesting.  Part of the country I have only once been to. My recollection is of hot & dusty; it looks so verdant in those photos.

Never heard of a grip drill before but I see what it is.

I only bought them because of the extra length which was needed, but worked well and a good price at R45 I thought for a mixed set of 3.

Makes you wonder why that put such large silencers on then. Your solution would work well for folks who wanted 2 paniers the same size.
