Enjoy, Brother!  :thumleft:

So how's the planning coming Mother?
Anything you would do different this time? Considering you're going a bit longer?

I'd be interested in some tips and feedback of your experience please.
Our date is set for next year - 7 weeks from end May onwards.

howdy MrBig
planning not too much i must say....downloaded app for traveling in USA on my iphone and ipad so i can check out each town as i randomly enter along the ride....know i want to do the northern parts so googling in most part .... sights to see and things to do
I'm not a very good planner as i hardly stick to plans...more a random thing so mostly i got my GPS with maps of USA got the general direction i wanna go...ticket is paid...budget is done so i got an idea on what to spend along the way
nice thing about having done it before
know where to get bike how it works what i can carry where to drop bike off and generally how to read the directions and traffic where we ride
now its a case of wanting to see an unplugged show...see a baseball game...see a big truck/car event....all this i will google and try to make the ones i like if in reason of where i am at the time
I'm going to take very little with me as there is nice stuff to get that side at reasonable prices
gonna take my helmet and jacket(the one i bought last yr there)
my gps with USA maps
my i stuff...(to get info on the go)...will probably get my wife ipad 2 tho....wifi is free in most places there
bungy and stretchies.....and few empty stuff bags this is to tie on extra goodies i buy on the bike
night shades....in case I'm on the rd late again like last yr
we leaving 22 Sept a few weeks later as it  is Fall/Autumn(best weather they say) last yr we still got moer hot in beginning of Sept
not sure how May is but im sure you gonna have a gas.....it was the best holiday i ever had!!
hope i answered some of ur ?
cheers
M

Thanks for that.
It sounds very exciting I must say.

I've been to the USA a few times before but mostly for work
We're really looking forward to doing a proper road-trip.
For 7 weeks it becomes a bit expensive to rent a bike and we'll probably have to be selective.

Our idea is to spend 3 weeks in the South West area and fly to Boston spend a week or so in the New England area and then cruise south
ending in Orlando

orlando harley where good to rent from ....pity u ending there....but their rates where good in fact we going back to rent from them as rates same as last yr
they always willing to help....they might even be able to send u bike sum where to collect then u end by them
google them rental dept

ur trip sounds lekka too...at the end of the day its what u make of it..
will keep u posted
also will get contacts there if u need help just shout

just realized its a month to go and we headed for East coast and northern USA

cant wait.......

On my bucket list. Been to the States quite a few times and hired a harley in Vegas, what a blast and promptly came back to SA and bought my transalp after many many years of not having a bike. Guess the bug bit again.

hey life is too short to not enjoy the ride.....
