I noticed whilst on last weeks ride to KMM in Middleburg (2000 kms total with 900 kms dirt), that compared to my mate Tengai's standard 1150 GS my bike was revving much higher at highway speeds. I worked it out and found at 5000 RPM I was doing 135 kph and he was doing 155 kph at the same revs. (by the way the 21" front wheel conversion makes the speedo accurate to GPS speeds)
The result was higher fuel consumption for me when keeping up.
Apparently 6th gear ratio is 0.69:1 on the adventure and 0.8:1 on the standard.
Is it possible to replace 6th gear with the longer ratio from a standard GS and still leave the rest of the box standard with the lower 1st which I like ??
