All this talk of the KLR made me look at the DR650 again and it seems Suzuki SA is selling them for R48 000. Good price since they used to be around R56 000. Obviously Suzuki is trying to compete with Kawa in the 650 class. Having ridden the DR I can honestly say it has a very punchy engine while being smooth and having very good suspension as standard.
