Planning to do this in the next couple of weeks as a warm up for my mangey leg.

Lowest altitude on route - 0m a.m.s.l.
Highest altitude reached - 3,945m a.m.s.l.
Estimated trip date: Saturday 3rd August
Time: 06h00
Meeting point: My house in Lima, pm me for details.
Time 8 hours (with photee stops and lunch).
Here a view of it looking south from Lima.
Starts out with a ride past Manchay (our townships)
then Pachacamac
which has some interesting sights
Pachacamac (Say Pacha Kamak) also has some cool Inca ruins but there will no time to stop and look...
Along the coast and Pan American Highway for 56km to the south and a last view of the sea,
Before turning inland for the first big pass of the day. Its only 62km away as the crow flies but is of 100km of dirt twisties. It start up this innocuous, but lush valley set in the north Atacama desert that lines almost the entire west coast of South America.
As one climbs higher and higher the mountains get wilder and higher,
and greener
Lunch stop in that little town of Huarochiri
Which has some interesting statues atch:
No barriers to worry about >
En route up there are a couple of tunnels to do
The route tops out on an plateau or altiplano pampas nearly 4,000m above sea level. Not the gighest one can rid in Peru but high enough for a days outing.
Before dropping into another equally impressive gorge with another 120km of twisties or so... :ricky:
Stopping off in the village of Pampilla
and Antiochia for a beer.
Fomr antiochia its a nice easy 60km of tarred twisties back to my house in time for a braai.
Anyone interested in coming with my wife and I or popping by on holiday, let us know.
