New Norton Commandos
Has anyone bought one of these new generation of Norton Commandos? I walked into this bike shop by accident ( was looking for the T7 Tenere) and found these lined up in the display. I had no idea that it was anything but talk and that any bikes had in fact left the factory.
I'm not sure about the wisdom of releasing a new generation of what was a very flawed British legend with its dodgy iso-spastic frame, smiths so called wiring, back to front and upside down controls, glow worm lighting set and perhaps most famously (or infamously) a controlling company bleating of industrial sabotage when the cheap as dogshit main bearings they sourced from Japan all packed up before 20,000miles.
However, when all was going well it was a lovely bike to ride. I can remember a fantastic evening ride to North Berwick on one that was about perfect, and about as far as you did want to go because isoelastics or not, they did vibrate.
