Hi Dogs,

I'm trying to fix up a magnesium engine case that has some water corrosion around the water impeller.
My first try (https://flickr.com/gp/eugenevd/f80d7v/) was to clean out the area, paint it with hammerite (anti-corrosive paint) and then build up the corroded parts with Pattex Steel Epoxy, then grind neat with a dremel.

A week after this job I opened up to inspect only to find that the epoxy has softenend (feels like medium hard rubbber) and breaking loose. The Hammerite also seems to be flaking off.
The epoxy is rated -35 to 150'C, The coolant , Motul Motocool Organic which I chose because it was suggested as safe for the magnesium case, might be the culprit?

I've been told that a better epoxy for such a job would be Araldite Epoxy?
Where in Gauteng can one be this, I don't recall ever seeing it before...?
