Sunday arrived and it was time for a ride. Arrived and Dirtwarp was allready waiting with his XR628. Well done it looks fantastic :thumleft:
Waited for Louisxander and he arrived soon after, quick phone call to Blazes but he could not make it today so off we went. The idea was to take the backroads to Cullinan and from there follow some routes to Kwamahlanga which turned out to be a good workout ! Following the service roads.
Quick stop in Cullinan and we were off riding some fun trails and trying to keep out of the dust, we need some rain fast ! Bikes were discussed at each break.
Some singletrack thrown in for good measure
Dirtwarp aka Pierre
Louisxander aka Louis
My bike aka the 525 build
Up towards the water tower via a rocky climb, at the top stopped for a quick bite
Down in the valley we had a mini water crossing
Then rocks and hectic climbs were the order of the day. Bikes bounced of rocks and went down. LX and Dirtwarp took turns kicking the BRP on the side of the mountain, did I mention the 525 has electric start :evil6:
Just as well I sukkeld my gat off with the 525, the big tank added about 20kg and I need some more rock riding practice. Nothing serious and we continued down the valley with everyone taking a breather at the bottom. Hard work but great riding.
Dirtwarp can throw that XR around, here he executes an easy 1m drop into a riverbed with thich sand and rides out the other side :ricky:
All in all a great way to spend a Sunday, the last bit off dirt was some fast sweeping stuff via De Tweedespruit. Thanks for reading :thumleft:
