Sunday arrived and it was time for a ride. Arrived and Dirtwarp was allready waiting with his XR628. Well done it looks fantastic  :thumleft:

Waited for Louisxander and he arrived soon after, quick phone call to Blazes but he could not make it today so off we went. The idea was to take the backroads to Cullinan and from there follow some routes to Kwamahlanga which turned out to be a good workout ! Following the service roads.

Quick stop in Cullinan and we were off riding some fun trails and trying to keep out of the dust, we need some rain fast ! Bikes were discussed at each break.

Some singletrack thrown in for good measure

My bike aka the 525 build

Up towards the water tower via a rocky climb, at the top stopped for a quick bite

Down in the valley we had a mini water crossing

Then rocks and hectic climbs were the order of the day. Bikes bounced of rocks and went down. LX and Dirtwarp took turns kicking the BRP on the side of the mountain, did I mention the 525 has electric start  :evil6:

Just as well I sukkeld my gat off with the 525, the big tank added about 20kg and I need some more rock riding practice. Nothing serious and we continued down the valley with everyone taking a breather at the bottom. Hard work but great riding.

Dirtwarp can throw that XR around, here he executes an easy 1m drop into a riverbed with thich sand and rides out the other side  :ricky:

All in all a great way to spend a Sunday, the last bit off dirt was some fast sweeping stuff via De Tweedespruit. Thanks for reading  :thumleft:

Dirtwarp, waas jou fotos?

Kyk, ou DW is nie bang vir n XaaR nie, hy ry die k@k uit hom uit.

Sê my net vgl keer die roete is so erg, dan kom ek met die 250 ::)
Ek kon naderhand nie meer my been voel wat die skopwerk moet doen nie!  :D

Thanx, was n lekker trip maar toe ek tuis kom was ek sleg soos n parkieboemelaar! Ek is nou nog seer!

That 650 with a 27L tank (which is full btw) turned out to be too much. So we carried it down :)

I don't understand how I could have waited this long to get an XR600
We actually rode many of the same trials that I used my KTM300 for and the XR wanted more.

Traversing out of the cliff:

This pic does not show much, but this part of the climb requires you to make a 80 degree turn while climbing a gnarly rock.

what tank is that on your XR? what size and where did u get it?

27.5lt! From Andre van Rooyen down there by you. It's an IMS, ask him, he'll know better.

But at that rocky section it was still full, and extra 27kg, man it was heavy!

DW..Your Zaar looks real good...even better out and about.

Louis, good seeing the Ride Red Pig going about business as usual.

"dis hoe mens dit doen!"

lol

Nice one ouens. lyk na 'n very nice roete ;) Nice pics.

My tank is 15l en hy raak al klaar bietjie gewigtig as dit kom by die technical stuffs.

Man my XAAR kort weer 'n challenge.

DW, by the way, ek het daai koppie daar agter kloof hospitaal al so 2keer gaan doen. Een van die lekkerste speelplekke waar ek nog met hom was.  8)
