I want to buy a new bike come December to take me on this trip. Ive had my heart set on a KTM, why i dont really know. Because if seens they are in so many articles they seem to be the bike of choice. Thanks to This Top Bike's article it got me thinking a bit more about what to buy... and not just be lead by the dark side ;D
If you had the money to buy a bike for this trip, or used the one u already have, can you please help me decide what would be the best bike to buy.
A few things to consider.
The petrol situation - as per carb v injection.
Carrying weight - top box and panniers.
Spares in other countries - disaster waiting ? Sorry but here - KLR '08 NO WAY.
Anything else, please add.
Im tending at this moment to buy an older - 3-5 years old bike, as im thinking spares for this should be in ample supply - where ever in Africa.
