So long story short, bought a raised seat for a friend from a guy in JHB. I knew of him, don’t know him. He reached out to me based on a FB add I had posted looking for some goodies for a bike. He sent photos, limited angles so I asked (just to be sure I cover myself):

Is the seat open/damaged /cracked anywhere on it?

To which he replied: “All good, make me an offer

Seat arrived, I was going to keep it packaged and send on just like that to my friend, friend suggested I take a look, we’ve heard some stories about this guy before.

And YUP, seat cover was damaged and cracked. Not a lot of money, not a big deal, it was relatively cheap, but the principle. Something small but really important:

Lot’s of small lies become big lies over enough time!

Read for yourself:IMG_0058.jpegIMG_0059.jpegIMG_0063.jpegIMG_0064.jpegIMG_0065.jpegIMG_0066.jpegIMG_0067.jpeg

After I confronted him and he tried to lie about it again, he said I can send it back. Just not worth the effort sending it back to JHB and relieving this guy’s “conscience”. He knew EXACTLY what he was doing, make no mistake.

PS - These people know that most people will just leave it and not even say anything, and even if they do and the guilty party offers to pay you back, you’re likely not going to want to go through the schlep of couriering it back, especially over a “small” amount”

But seat works at least :)

Thoughts?
