I bought them 7 years ago to mount to a flat trailer, never did.
Useful now with bikes being stolen to bolt to a floor, and lock the bike down. Also it uses less space than side stand (for those without centrestands or perhaps if you are cool and would like to ride into your parking spot like a champ).
