Blocking off AIS

Maybe this post is a repeat of earlier discussion on AIS. Fitted Leo Vince a while ago and only blocked the AIS of this weekend. After blocking off the AIS the bike now have a more "gruntier" sound than before (sounds better). Is this a normal observation after blocking off the AIS?
