So there comes a time in a man's life when you do as you please and druk the world a vet pit. That time has come for the purist Nazi's.
We were a approached by a well known WD to build something.. Something everyone admires, but the purist despise. Even I checked if he was sober when the "order" was confirmed. But it's on like donkey Kong.
Shamefully a carbon copy yes.. But some things are too unique to Stay a "once off" ..
So here goes..
Cycle : BMW R50 ( not even a /2..just a R50..its that old.)
Condition : running, but with emphysema and slight cancer.
End result :... Oh you guessed it.. blitz "great escape" replica.
Builders : Freak and Dappermuis ( FDWORX, Cape Town)
Owner.. Anonymous... For now.. To be revealed later.. But we all know him well on the forum.
A real honour to build this, and a challenge of note. The instruction was to copy the BLITZ to the last detail, but retain the option of reverting the R50 to original one day if so desired.
A full restoration was discussed, and brief cost evaluation done, but it's hardly worth it.. Many things are non standard, and makes the project a perfect donor for fun.
