BMW F650GS Opinions

A friend of mine is looking for an entry level bike, mostly for hardtop use. Has ridden scooter and years ago bike when at school. I have suggested a few bikes to look at in the 650 size, one being the BMW F650 which he likes very much.

Anyone know this bike? What do you think of the price? (I thought maybe a bit optimistic?)
