Last Saturday I managed to persuade my neighbour to go with me for a test-ride on a new GSA.
Needless to say, after letting him ride the bike for about 35mins, it would take a baseball-bat to remove the smile from his face. :mwink:
Sooooooo ............ back at the Waterfront, he started the age-old "how much" conversation.................
Wifey was the next one to convince, so after a lot of talking, she told him that "if" he sold his old R75/5 - standing in the garage for years not running - first, she would think about allowing him to negotiate for a new scoot!
So - he admitted to me that it's been quite a few years - the bike even stood outside under a tarpauling for at least 2 years - but maybe he should see whether we could get her going!
A new battery was purchased this morning along with new sparkplugs and some fuel. A couple of hours later, she sputtered and spat... but no starting!
Used some jumper leads as well and within seconds, the old boxer sprang to life, and we were up & down the road like 2 teenagers on a 50cc!!!
So... I realise the comments about "Pics" will come soon, but we have to wash and clean the bike - will then post some images.
Reason for the post is to see whether anyone can offer some info on
where, how and what price one could get for this old workhorse, which also has a full set of panniers!
Any input would be appreciated......................... :thumleft:
