My '09 with started making a funny ''chain sound'' on start up a while ago.  See here https://wilddog.net.za/forum/index.php?topic=102066.

Two weeks ago I took the bike in for the 60 000 km service. When I fetched it that afternoon I was told that unfortanately the whole timing chain thingamagig with tensioners and sprockets needs replacement. The parts are not in stock and will be ordered.

So yesterday I took it in for the repair.I was on a loaner the most of the day and returned to the dealer just after 4. I was told that my bike was not ready, that the repair was more major and that I need to come back today. I did not even bother to ask abount the damage, but started accepting that I will have to 'assume the position' when collecting it.

This afternoon at 12h00 (just as was promised yesterday) my bike was ready for collection. I gave the receptionist my name and she said 'Lenny wants to talk to you abount the repair' My heart sank into my shoes and I though Oh,FFS!

The wait for Lenny felt like a lifetime and then he gave me the news. They will be sending the invoice to BMW for a warrantee claim.  ;D and Lenny will contact me again if there is anything I need to pay as part contribution.

Now for the shocker, the bike is not under warrantee anymore, it expired at the beginning of the year already.

Thanks Bavaria for not merely  taking money from me and again giving me confirmation that you guys rock  :thumleft: :thumleft:
