BMW's retail & trade values - how realistic?

Hi

Just spoke to the sales guys at Donford in Stellenbosch, I wanted to know the retail and trade values for a 2003 1150 GS.... trade is R49,000, retail R40,000. Man, I nearly fell of my chair.  ???

How realistic are these prices quoted BMW? Seems in general prices on Gumtree and OLX are roughly about 10k higher.
