Seeing what happened to Shark this weekend, is there anything one can do i.t.o. gear which will minimize the chance of this happening?
Maybe just the way the cookie crumbles? Pardon the pun. What I mean is, no matter what you do, if you hit your shoulder at just the "correct"/wrong angle, no matter the force of impact, there is nothing which can prevent the break.
I assume Shark had his standard gear for the trip, which includes the body armour/chest/shoulder guards.
