I'm going to be doing a rebuild/make-over on my Buell XB9SX
Here is the thread where I got the bike
https://wilddog.net.za/forum/index.php?topic=185237.0
So now there are two Buells in the family
This is my wife's, which she has owned for 10 odd years.
Was originally blue with silver frame, but she didnt like it, so
I changed it to this black with Candy apple red.
The bike came with K&N filter, Buell race pipe and race chip.
So thats now "Hers", and I have to get "His" into the same league.
This is "His" as I received it.
Problems with it currently:
Number plate hanger is from the XB12SX, not a major, but colour differs
Motor has a tappet like tick, although this has hydraulic followers
Nasty flat spots around 3000rpm
Clutch drags and even while moving, gears are hard to shift
I dislike the pipe.( sound and looks)
Chin spoiler missing
Dont like the colour
So of course a total strip down is in order, then
maybe a few changes , colour etc.
So off comes the seat, airbox cover and airbox.
I just love the way this bike is built.
Took off the flyscreen, at first I didnt notice anything, till it moved.
What a pleasant surprice, a race ECM
SUbframe off with electrics
Starting to look a little bare
Frame lifted off the motor
And thats as far as I've progressed till now.
