I'm buying my bike from across the country (I'm in CT and am buying from Pretoria). And have no intention of ripping off the seller. And he seems the same way, though all I can really go on is a long e-mail thread. What documentation should I provide and should he provide so that we can both feel safe about the transaction: me sending money and him sending his bike across the country to someone we've never met? Things such as ID Numbers and Proof of Address have been suggested, what else...?

Thanks :thumleft:

(if the responses are super useful maybe this could be made a sticky by the mods- if its a problem people often have -  and I couldn't decide whether to post this here or in general discussion).
