This is not my home thread, asking on behalf of a mate thats looking for a ADV bike. He found this 2010 R1200GS, maybe some of you know the bike or someone here might actually be the current owner. Anyway, bike currently has 43 000km on the clock and comes with all the bells and whistles and at a price of R80k, it does not sound to bad to me. I however dont really know much abouth these beasts. What are the things to look out for on a bike this age and what kind of nearby major maintenance or servicing should be excepted for this kind of bike. Don't want to paint a unrealistic picture for the guy, but I have heard talk of expensive work on the driveshaft at around 50 000km? Any thing else?
