"Maak 'n verskil!"

My foto's kom later. Intussen gooi nog julle foto's.

Wow....some really nice photos & sure looks like a well turned out ride. Really sad that I missed out on this one.

Looking forward to the rest of the photos.

It was such an awesome ride, and great pictures so far. Looking forward to seeing a few of the gopro footage :)

For the rest of it, it was an very well organized day - thanks Johnny Bok.

Baie dankie Tinie.  Dit was 'n ongelooflike lekker dag, die beste Canola run nog (nie dat die ander nie lekker was nie).  Die modder het vir lekker baie pret gesorg.

Many, many thanks to all those that made this happen.............it was an absolute hoot.

This was my second DS riding experience and boy, did I learn a lot. I had my first off, was introduced to the mud monster at the very first mud / water / snot patch at the beginning of the ride and learnt my first lesson with mud.........don't try and pussy foot through the stuff, grow a set of balls and give it a bit of gas.........oh, and try and keep the front wheel straight. I made the mistake of looking down in front of me instead of looking up to where I wanted to go, I remembered that for all the other mud monsters,"marbles rocks", dry car tracks etc, and managed to complete the ride without another off...............quite chuffed with myself .........I was fully expecting to bliksem off at every "new" situation I came across. Being a newbie, the whole ride was basically "new" situations.............but I remembered what I've read on this forum......look up and give it gas!

This was a "virgin breaker" for my new KLR, I couldn't think of a better way to do it!

Still brand new, not even run in properly yet.

Even had mud on the clocks..........lekker, lekker.

Now this is starting to look a bit more like a DS bike!

The views were stunning, worth every poephol knyp moment to get there!

Rest stop and some more incredible views.

What an experience, I'm only just starting to understand what you DS riders enjoy and experience when you are out there................I'm hooked, good and solid. I met most of the guys for the first time, I cannot remember all your names, but it was great to put some faces to the forum names...........and Eish  :thumleft:, I owe you a few beers, thanks for picking up my head light protector for me, I didn't even see it come off.

Thank you all, the camaraderie amongst the DS riders is quite unbelievable

@ Locktight..... my dear friend....the way you described your Awesome Experience with us & how you truly enjoyed the experience....coupled with those Gr8 photos "capturing" that exact thing you described..... is what makes DS riding so Special for me too.

Really Glad that you had  such a wonderful time out there & most importantly.....that you are Hooked  :thumleft: :thumleft: :thumleft:

Gr8 stuff man ;D ;) :thumleft: :thumleft: :thumleft:
