Interesting read I fell upon the other day...think I might do it. If your valve clearance perfect (add to that the rocket end float), every time, and you TBS is perfect, then you might not notice that much that our pigs are noisy at start up. Mine is. Supposedly, a lot of that is the left side cam chain slapping away - the tensioner only starts doing it's job when the engine is nice and hot. ONLY THE LEFT SIDE. There's a mod, a R1200GS cam chain tensioner. Read if your interested.

Even if it means that start up is more silent only, I think it's worth it. Will get quotes from BMW Monday.
