Cape Town to Swakopmund and back

Our family is having a big get together in December… 60th wedding anniversary etc. In-laws have a farm near Kalkrand / Maltahöhe. We are going by car, towing a bike trailer with dirt bikes (not road legal). The thinking is not to drive long distances for two consecutive days. My planned route is as follows:

- D1: Cape Town to Vioolsdrift / Orange river area;
- D2: Stay over and play with bikes;
- D3: Vioolsdrift to Kalkrand farm;
- D4 to 8: Play at farm;
- D9: Farm to Swakop;
- D10 to 16: Play at Swakop;
- D17: Back to farm;
- D18: Stay and play at the farm;
- D19: Farm to Vioolsdrift area;
- D20: Stay and play;
- D21: Drive home.


Few questions:
1. Any suggestions of dirt bike friendly accommodation next to the Orange river… either side of the border post?
2. Any admin challenges or special taxes with getting the dirt bikes across the border?

I know it is warm in December… I grew up there.
