Parents own a 2011 BMW X3 3.0d, Coming back from holiday a strong chemical smell was coming from the ac vents and no cooling. Imo probably a refrigerant leak.. I am working overseas but would like to assist them in not being ripped off by BMW..
Question:
Does anybody know of a reputable, professional and honest AC specialist in the GAUTENG, PTA or better yet PTA EAST region to take a look at this? Car is very well kept and low mileage and FSH, after numerous scandals at different BMW dealerships we can't trust the stealers any longer..
FYI Last scandal being BMW Menlyn quoted on a "broken diff" to the tune of R65 000, took the car to a third party specialist who found a steering rack spindle as the cause of the vibrations my parents were trying to sort out... Had to force BMW to cover half of this spindle..
