I sold my first bike ( '06 Honda TransAlp), to a friend of mine.
They moved to the cape province a month of so back and and the bike remaind here in Pretoria at friends of him.
The bike was stored under roof cover and has not been ridden for atleast a mont.
His brother tried to get the bike stared to take it for service but could not get it started. All other electronics work, the started turns, but no fire.
Took it to Honda but they sent it to a different electrictian who then diagnosed the problem as the CDI.
Now, a few questions:
1. How or what guases CDI's to go?
2. What could be considered a reasonable price for a CDI? (Honda quoted R5000)
3. Do anyone know where one would get a secondhand one or a cheaper option?
