A newly discovered gem for me!
I tried to book at Oasis for Saturday night but they were full....i did not feel like pitching tent so Chantal suggested Nuwerus just down the road. https://www.cederbergexperience.co.za/
So i phoned and yes they have space....and space they have! I have no idea why i have not visited Nuwerus before as it is NOT off the beaten track.

They have thatch roof cottages and a huge camping area...40 full sites of which 35 have power boxes. Next to the camping area is a lapa with inside braai/fireplace and a massive hearth outside. TV, Ice , Fridges and fully stocked bar....

Also an above ground pool which we used several times.....the grounds are dotted with trees giving much needed shade, lush grass and some Springbok which roam around all to freely  :drif:

Not wanting to self cater that night we opted to pop over to Oasis for a meal and rehydration....as is normal the place was full of the usual suspects.... 8) :thumleft:

The following morning lethargy set in....the setting in the kloof combined with the sound of birds and farm animals convinced us to stay another night. Nuwerus has a small shop where you can buy fresh farm meat and other basic provisions....as well as sorting us with a bottle of brandy ;) The day was spent chilling around the pool & basically doing nothing....a refreshing and much needed break :thumleft:
It's THE perfect place for families and or groups of friends as well as for a motorcycling weekend.

Part of the new GS1200 launch was recently done here and next weekend they have sixty mountain bikers coming in.

Then Monday morning it was over Katbakkies to go to the Tankwa Padstal for coffee....Wally has done some alterations. There is a new kuir/braai/lapa outside and a pool...

Breakfasts and Sunday lunches are proving popular  :thumleft:

With the "new" suspension its going well...even with an athletic pillion onboard...the E09 front wants to be deflated to 2.00bar then she's happy  :thumleft: Cranked the pre-load four turns to get weight on the front ;)

Lekker PP  :thumleft: :thumleft: Been wanting to go to Nuwerus myself . Thanks for the info.

It's a different experience to Oasis....hell....i even said to Chantal i feel like a traitor  :laughing4: It's ideal if you want a quiet one without traffic or people.... 8)

Seems like it's worth a visit, but yes, I can identify with the "traitor" feeling, because I've only had good times at the Oasis.

Problem with Oasis is there are too many delinquent WD's that visit the place. Chances are good you will drink a mate "raak" while there and it usually gets messy.

I have been looking for a place to take the wife and kid. That saying, Oasis is perfect for families too, I am just scared of running in to some of you.  ;)

Ag no man Grrrr, how can you say that? After kuiering there a while, I'm sure you and I will go and look for poor little stray leopards.  :lol8:

Good times are where you make them....Sandrift, Driehoek, Kromrivier.....to name a few  :thumleft:

Being an old farm there are buildings, walls and kraals built from the local stone....some look like no dugga was used!
