So, we have 3 bikes. A BMW 650 Sertao, A KLR 650 and a Big Boy 250.
Now here's the thing that I can't understand...
Why do the different adventure bike manufacturers make all sorts of ridiculous chain adjustment mechanisms while the cheapest and simplest solution is that little notched disc you find on a lot of smaller bikes?
To adjust the Big Boy's chain:
1 spanner. :thumleft:
To adjust the KLR's chain:
A bunch of spanners and a pliers. :
To adjust the Sertao's chain:
A bloody mechanical engineering degree and several sets of new skin for your knuckles. atch:
The first pic illustrates the Big Boy's chain adjustment mechanism, nice, simple, reliable.
The second pic is the KLR, and the third is the Sertao.
Surely the smart boys in the kitchen have a reason why they don't use the discs, but what is the Great A'Tuin's name could that reason be? :dontknow:
