Hi,
My office recently moved, as a result my commute has increased from 20km/day to over 50km/day.
I've always commuted on a sinlge cylinder bike... recently a Yamaha DT175, and XR500R or DRZ400 previously.
I suspect the singles won't hold up to the the longer commute for very long, so i'm considering upgrading to a larger bike.
Budget is around R55k.
Looking for something in the 650-800cc range (twin/4 cylinder), reliability is a priority, no super bikes.
So far i've consider the Suzuki DL650, Honda Africa Twin XRV750 & Transalp 700, and Triumph Tiger 800 XC (although it may be a bit out of budget).
I've ridden the Transalp, and although a sensible choice for a commuter, it's just too placid/boring for my liking.
Are there any other bikes i should consider?
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and experience. :ricky:
