The XT 600 Tenere I bought has a Chassis/Engine Number starting with 39E. Its registered a 1986 model, maybe a 1985 that stood on a Floor or something, but bottom line, VIN starts with 39E.
Earlier (I think?) Tenere 600's has the 34L Number (introduced 1983)
1) What are the differences, if any, between the 34L and 39E?
2) Is the "55W" Serie Number the same as the 39E, introduced 1985?
3) When ordering parts, for instance, are the 34L and the 39E (and 55W) the same thing??
