Hi guys.

@Admin, hope this is cool—just wanted to throw something out there and see if there's any interest.

Been riding for years now, and one thing that’s always helped me on those brutally hot days is an evaporative cooling vest. But I’ve noticed not many other guys using them, and honestly, I don’t get why. Either people don’t know about them, or they’ve always been way too pricey.

So, I figured I’d do something about it. I started my own brand, EvaTeq, making cooling vests that actually work and don’t cost a fortune. You can find them at evateq.co.za or on Takealot.

Quick rundown: these vests have a polymer sewn inside that absorbs water and slowly releases it over time. It’s kinda like riding in a wet T-shirt, except the inner layer has a water-resistant barrier, so you don’t end up soaked. You wear it under your jacket, and as long as there’s airflow, it drops your temp by at least 5°C—sometimes more. Depending on the conditions, you’ll get a few hours of solid cooling, and on a scorching day, it makes a huge difference.

One of the best things is how easy it is to recharge. When the vest dries out, all you need to do is add more water, and you're good to go again. You can do this anywhere—at a fuel stop, a roadside tap, or even with a bottle of water. No fancy gear or prep needed, just dunk it, squeeze out the excess, and you’re back in business.

Most of my orders are from businesses with workers out in the sun all day, but I made sure to bring in a batch designed for bikers too. Since I’ve produced a good number, I can offer them cheaper than anything else out there—without skimping on quality.

So yeah, just putting it out there to see if anyone’s keen. These do work, and I stand by them 100%. But if you’re in Durban or anywhere crazy humid—sorry boys, evaporative cooling doesn’t do much in high humidity.

If you’re interested, let me know. Ride safe!
