So I am toying with the idea of shipping my 1150GSA over to the UK where I now live.
It seems there are relatively few here in the UK and they are expensive when they pop up on Autotrader. I have owned my for quite a few years, love it and know the bike so would love to keep it. Apart from the actual shipping costs, Im in the dark as to what import taxes I may have to pay. Also how tedious is the red tape ?
Anybody exported a bike or even a car to the UK and know the procedure, or know a company that does this ?
For info: If my bike is worth 55k + 20k shipping+ 10k ??? duties =ZAR 85k At current rates, about 18.5 = £4600. Prices range from £3000 up to £5500. There is even one for £8500. They all look a bit tatty and as Ive said before, I know my bike.
