Crab
Race Dog
After work on Friday I got on my bike and rode for 300km and filled up in Avontuur. I got there just in time as the pumps were about to be locked for the night.
Next was on to Oudtshoorn where I stopped and bought rolls and a couple of tins of food then on again to Calitzdorp where I filled up again to be ready for Saturdays riding. I got to the Barn 62 before dark, which was cool as I needed to put my tent up. It was lekker meeting again with old friends from the Garden Route and getting to know a few new ones.
This was the coolest dog in the barn
The lovely lady of the barn who also made me coffee.
The silly proprietor drilled holes through this lovely Diana, made in about 1910,to screw it to the wall.
I liked the girl in this old Coke advertisement.
Breakfast Saturday morning.
And then on and into Anysburg. Lovely riding terrain.
Cold drinks under the Bluegum trees.
At the top of a pass
And a stop at the Dros.
The Breede River at last.
The camp site, although it was a lovely setting, the reeds that had been mown down to make space for the campers left many sharp stalks sticking up and these made at least five holes in the floor of my tent. Rather KAK.
Some random shots at the Bash where I got to meet some of the wonderful Dogs.
Some barbarians ate sheep’s heads. Stomach turning stuff for me.

More lovely people
On Sunday morning a lovely young woman was looking for something in the grass, or praying. Anyway I gave her a mug of coffee and she said it made her feel better.
Nice people at Ronnies Sex Shop.
Drazil, Bonebag and I left together. We passed and were passed by the garden Route Dogs and the George dogs a couple of times. Drazil was tired, and the heat on Route 62 was high so we decided to head for the coast and made our way to George and Sedgefield. We rented a chalet and stayed about 5km outside of sedgefield, but went into town for supper. There were some interesting looking characters around and about.
Monday morning we were up and away. Stopped at Storms River for a coke and on to Oudebosch farm stall for a spot of breakfast, and then back to PE and to work.
Thanks to the bash organisers, and to all of my riding companions for a wonderfull time away.
