Ok, I need to cut a load of alu bar into 25 mm slices, and need a method that unskilled labour can operate.

At first I parted them off in the lathe. Time consuming and cannot leave it for the helper.

Then I cut them in a normal cut-off saw, with one of those metal HSS cutting discs. This is much much faster, but quite a violent operation, and would not feel safe leaving it to the helper.

Does anybody use one of the smaller 220V bandsaws? Like this one:

Feels like this might cut alu bar fast and also be safer to operate?

Any other thoughts?
