Here was a long weekend and a chance to get the dual sport bikes out into the bush and dirt where they belong. Got the pink slip signed for the day, and planning started.
Got KROD and KGD to commit by the Tuesday so we had three riding good call. KROD had to pull out to personal reasons so it was just KGD and myself.
The route was going to be a long one, here is the track.
This was loaded on my iPhone, using an app called GPX navigator. It worked really well throughout the entire trip no issues at all. Very happy.
We hit the road at 6:15 am and made our way through Midrand and centurion along the R55. We were following the route and not to sure if we had to hit dirt or tar eventually we made the call and head straight to Bela Bela on the R101.
Stopped and had a maxis breakfast, as it looked like the dirt and fun was about to start.
Just outside Bela Bela the dirt started ;D this was much to our delight
We were not sure about the road conditions after the floods but they seemed fine as the wonderful dirt rolled on.
A few water crossings was had along the route, old Kevin on his trusty 690
Some action shots somewhere in the middle of the Waterberg actually on the Rankus pass.
Looking up at the mountain pass.
Going along an awesome dirt road where there are quite a few game farms, spotted alongside the road was Wildebeest, baboons, bush pig, donkey hahah
Two clowns loving the day out of JHB
Going this mountain pass not sure of its name, good loads of fun.
Can't forget about my sidekick
And here we are back in Harties after an epic day out in the dirt
A summary of the trip
This trip is well worth it, what a lovely day out !!
