My holiday project was to build a rotary tumbler.
The goal was to make it from kak lying in my workshop or someone else's

I had to buy nuts, bolts, washer, and threaded rod.
Some bar stock to turn the shafts.
and the pillar bearings

The rest was scrounged.

Finished it this morn but...

Motor out of a friends vacuum cleaner runs at 2800 rpm which is a tad fast me thinks.
The fan belt keeps snapping (Made from a slice of thick tube - back tire)

Runs fine for about 30 secs then the belt heats up and either jumps off the pulley or snaps

What can I use as a fan belt?
Does anyone have an electric motor lying around - 400w ish 1500 rpm?
