The option for buying hard panniers just before Xmas is NOT very good, the option of borrowing/renting is also looking slim.

So the next best is home made wings (racks/brackets) to strap the additional items to like tent, 2x sleeping bags & 2x matrasses. All the rest should fit in the top box & tank bag.
I started with 16mm aluminium tubing, cut & bent the pieces into shape & then a coat of heat resistant paint.
They're quite strong & take a fair amount of weight as they rest on the bits by the pillion foot rests.
Only thing now is a piece of sheet metal or something to protect on the luggage from the exhausts heat.
