Not sure if I should be happy or mad.
Stripped the right side of the motor tonight to replace the mechanical seal on the waterpump. While cleaning out the oil screen, I found some metal parts. One piece fell back into the motor. After I fished it out, I ended up with a spring (in 2 pieces) and part of what I can only guess is the timing chain tensioner.
Damn, I was hoping to postpone the Doo-Hickey for another month or two. (which would probably have ended in another year or two)
Luckily I doubt it caused any other damage, so I should be happy that I caught it in time.
