Race Dog
This bike has been sold.
2005 DRZ 400 E.
R28 000
Farkly bits:
434 piston.
Superbike-solutions setup on top end.
Hotcam on intake side.
Kibble white valve springs.
Leovince exhaust.
Clarke 14litre tank.
Vapor enduro dash.
Devol alu radiator guards.
Hyde bash plate.
14-44 gearing.
TKC80 up front (60%)
Michelin T63 on the rear (40% left)
Custom rear and side racks.
Chain and sprocket are still about 60%
Stock piston, cylinder, valve springs and cam in a box included in sale (plus whatever other spares i have in the garage, there's a few, levers, indicators etc - there's a box of stuff).
Mechanical story:
I bought it with 21 000km on the clock.
Have replaced the speedo and a high estimate is that I have done 10 000kms.
I put in a 434 big bore piston and a hotcam on the intake side.
The piston and top-end have less than 3000kms on them.
I recently re-did the bottom-end. That has less than 100kms on it.
(it needs to go back at 1000kms, just to have bolts tightened and to check it's all good)
All engine work done by Julian at Superbike Solutions.
Just collected bike yesterday from Tim at TMC, had the carb sorted (it was running rich).
The bike looks like an 11-year old bike. The plastics could be re-placed.
But the business-end, the engine, is all soooo good.
When I was riding often, the bike was cleaned after every big ride, air-filter cleaned often.
New oil every 3000kms. Lots of love.
Had the forks serviced by SuperFoxi, did new bearings, etc.
Yesterday, on the ride home the speedo-cable got damaged. (slight drop in price as a result)
It has a vapor endurance dash.
I've knocked the price down to R28 000 (R4000 for speedo cable and aesthetics).
I think it's an honest /fair price.
I have spent a stupid amount of money on the bike. Had a fall and just haven't ridden that much since.
Despite having the bike set-up like a hooligan, I don't actually ride that hard. It's a LOT of fun through the gears.
But i'm a pretty sedate rider. More of a Crossed-up rider than an EtienneNXR rider.
A well-loved, well-ridden bike: https://wilddog.net.za/forum/index.php?topic=72415.0
I did a lot of mods to the bike over time. Some I've undone. Back to standard headlight and shroud.
Realised the pics in that thread are old. Will post new ones ASAP.
