We have had this bike 3 months now and yet to go on a ride - bought it knowing it had a problem at cruising speed, missing and spluttering, but awesome while accelerating. Started and idled nicely too. Anyway, turns out the experts can't fix the problem so after searching I ordered a carb from ebay (Chinese no doubt) it duly arrived after a very long wait and turns out I had the wrong info and it is not a slanted carb, I thought this was the correct one. I can't return it due to courier costs being so high, so I want to try and use it, but the width is less than the original carb, so the intake boot does not reach, also, the throttle linkages are further back.
Can I fit this carb to the bike (DRZ400s) if I modify things a bit? I can get an original carb that has been sitting in a box and has the float bowl missing, but I am not sure if its worth trying (R1,000 cost)
Very frustrating not being able to use the bike - I also have limited time at home to work on it.
