I recently scored my cylinder on my 2009 KTM 450 EXC and and had to replace it.
Eventually I got the part in from Canada, and set about replacing the thing, the head and the barrel itself with the new one. Put it back together again and it started in the third try. I noticed two things almost immediately.
1) The bike was helluva loud (yes I did remember to put the silencer back on!) as if there was a hole somewhere, but could not find it.
2) There are a distinctive 'knocking' or clipping sound as the engine turned over. Now dont get me wrong, this bike has always had a "knocking" sound to the extent that folks have looked at it and thought there was something wrong with it from time to time. Now it seems more pronounced.
I turned the bike off before it even had a chance to warm up.
What should I be looking at and what should the next steps be?
Thanks in advance. :thumleft:
