I am restoring a Yammie RD 50. The tank is lightly rusted inside. My plan is to remove the rust using Evaporust and then to coat inside with an appropriate epoxy.
Googling reveals a USA product by Caswell - a phenol novolac 2 part epoxy that gets very good reviews.
So far so good - except that they will not ship epoxies to SA (dangerous goods etc) and they do not appear to have a local distributor.
Three questions:
1. Has anyone had experiences with tank lining in SA?
2. Any locally available epoxies that work?
3. Anyone know of a Caswell agent?
I prefer to do the work myself and not to engage the services of Gumtree specialists ( a number of experts advertise this service on Gumtree).
