Expat Buying and Registering a Motorcycle in Cape Town

Thanks for all the recent advice on my other posting from Cape Town to Europe!  I have another, related, question.  How much time will it take to register a motorcycle in my name in Cape Town?  If I start the process when I first buy the bike, can I ride it and then come back in a few weeks when it is completed? Are there any technical paperwork issues that I need to be aware?  I really want the motorcycle in my name for when I use it in Europe, etc.  Again, I appreciate all the great help here!!: [email protected].
