Sometimes in the sea of mediocrity comes a shining light. Ian Glass of GT Shocks fame, is now fully equipped to service, and I mean SERVICE, KTM suspensions. He has the WhitePower manuals, tooling, and 20 plus years of industry know-how. I have helped Ian with defining the correct oils using my viscosmetry equipment in my lab at work. A normal schmuck might be able to replace your fork seals, but Ian does a complete take-down, cleans up all the shims stacks and valving, CLEANS the inards, and reassembles the forks using experience and patience and proper presses and tooling. His workshop won over my confidence. He found a lantent problem with a stuck rebound valve needle and cleaned it up properly. I now have the old oil to analyse, you will not believe the muck in it. At 29 000km of hard dirt work, it was time for TLC. Ian will charge you R650incl per forkleg, but you must bring 'em in with new seals and oil ( Putoline HX 5 is what we found to be closest match to OEM WP oil ). I for one don't think this is a cheap rate, but if you want something done properly in this world of dumb louts with hammers and vicegrips working in the dust and grit, with no regard for the long term service life of your precious suspension, pays your money!
