Another thread talked about the high cost of BMW mirrors for R1200GS & it seems they are the same as the F650GS.
I had the same annoyance here in Australia plus the stock mirrors vibrated too much at high speed.
I twigged that the solution was to look for any after market mirror which had the same shaft diameter, height, bend etc as the BMW mirror & cut off the screw thread so it fitted into the BMW adapter or in SA the one sold by

The BMW mirror has a 10mm shaft diameter
I noticed some mirrors on a scooter in a little country town & checked with the local motorcycle dealer & they fit, dont vibrate & are cheap. Even better they are "squarish" in shape & give better rear vision. Survived 30,000kms now
Those folding mirrors sure look good though
