Race Dog
I recently ended up damaging my bikes cooling system in a crash and got some second hand spares, from a generous dog, as replacement. I needed to switch the fan from the original (seized up) fan-motor to the second hand one I got. Couldn't find any info on how the fan itself was constructed as BMW sells the fan-motor assembly as single unit I also couldn't find any info on how to disassemble the motor from the fan.
So... anyway, the fan is moulded from plastic only and needs to be prised of carefully not to damage the blades or the hub - thus, after removing the pin at the end of the rusted shaft I used two table spoons, wedged between the fan's hub and the electric motor, to lever it of.
Below are (90's wedding like) pics taken with my mobile, of course, of the parts.
