A friend's 2003 1150 GSA broke it's fan belt, and he asked me to help him to fit a new one. He bought a belt from some bearing place
I Googled the procedure, and it showed 3 bolts that need to loosened, then slide down the alternator, fit the new belt, hold a torque of 8Nm on an adjuster bolt, and re-tighten the 3 bolts
This bike however does have the 3 bolts, but only 2 are slotted to allow some limited downward movement, whilst the 3rd bolt (at the quarter past position) does not have a slot, but allows the alternator to swivel. And there is no tension setting bolt
Questions : What is the number of the belt that needs to be fitted to this bike ? The one my friend bought is too short
How does one tension this belt ?
Thanks in advance
