Regarding this https://wilddog.net.za/forum/index.php?topic=105575.0 I thought I would post some photos to help the next guy  :thumleft:

I had to replace my headset and took some pictures as I went along - I have heard guys talking about cutting etc. and there is no need for it.
The only reason I stripped the helmet as well was because I decided to wash the pads for a change.

This is the difference between the low profile and the normal speakers – I did not specifically ask for the low profile and got the normal ones.  On closer inspection I noticed they are almost the same height.

Remove the cheek pads then remove the cloth.  Put your Velcro onto the polystyrene as close as possible to the corner, this is the highest point and reduces the chance of the speaker touching your ear.

Velcro your speakers onto the polystyrene, with the wires pointing to the corner.

Take the wire and run it to the back from the corner

Replace the cloth cover

Insert the right-hand cheek pad and run the wire in the fold of the rear panel until you get to the left-hand cheek panel. Only the stereo jack needs to extend past the back portion.

Insert the right hand pad and fish through the fastening buckle. Run the mic wire to the front section of the helmet (this has in my case got the most space for it) connect the stereo jack from the left speaker and run the unit’s wire underneath the plastic that is up against the helmet.

Insert the cheek pad – make sure the stereo jack connection is sitting in the back of the fold and that your mic’s wire has no tension on it.  Place the F4 unit on your helmet in such a position that your visor does not touch it and that is at hand where you can feel it. Plug in the unit making sure not to bend the wire to much.

The advantage of the speaker behind the cloth is your ear does not touch it and all the wires are hid and hence last longer because they can’t move and eventually make a loose connection.  This said my problem was the connector at the unit – the new one has been modified.
