Flip up helmets

After reading a thread about the issue on ADVRider last week, and seeing BigDoM's comments, it seems one could potentially be in for bigger injuries when using one compared to a normal fullface.

... the visor was destroyed ... and the chin section of my System 5 helmet popped open/off on one side!!!?Huh? (Small scratch under my chin). Now I know there has been debate about these flip-ups but to pop undone??? I liked mine as I wear specs as mentioned and so it means not having to remove them everytime one puts helmet on etc. BUT MUST say will not buy another one now...
